East Girls Place Third at HHC; Redman, Wakefield, Cloud, Dits Lead Champions in the Orange Pit

Four Champions Lead Olympians to Third at Hoosier Hills Conference The Columbus East girls wrestling team turned in a strong performance on Saturday inside the Orange Pit, finishing third at the Hoosier Hills Conference Championships with 179 points. Jeffersonville won the team title with 217, followed by Floyd Central with 192. The Olympians were led by four conference champions, each going unbeaten on the day, along with multiple medalists across the lineup. HHC Champions 105 – Tienica Dits (1st, 3–0) Dits recorded three dominant wins, including a 43-second semifinal fall, before securing the title with a pin in 3:08 over Seymour’s Isabella Doyle. 125 – Gloria Cloud (1st, 3–0) Cloud advanced to the finals with two forfeits and finished the job with a 3:45 pin over Jeffersonville’s Abi Lemon to claim her first HHC crown. 155 – Issabel Wakefield (1st, 3–0) Wakefield was outstanding, pinning all three opponents and sealing the championship with a 3:08 fall over Jennings County’s Katherine Brunner. 170 – Annabelle Redman (1st, 3–0) Redman reached the finals with two forfeits, then delivered a 2:23 pin over Jennings County’s Gabrella Hernandez to win her weight class. Additional Medalists 235 – Kaydence Spradlin (2nd, 2–1) Spradlin reached the finals after a forfeit and a 2:15 semifinal pin, finishing as conference runner-up. 100 – Abby Morales (3rd, 2–1) Morales bounced back from a semifinal loss and earned third place with a 1:54 fall over BNL’s Emma Johnson. 110 – Lia Tomlinson (4th, 2–2) Tomlinson picked up two wins, including a 1:50 fall in the consolation semifinals, placing fourth. 115 – Breylin Rodriguez (4th, 2–2) Rodriguez collected a pair of wins—one by fall—and secured a fourth-place finish. 190 – Ashlee Manis (5th, 2–2) Manis closed her day with a strong 2:14 pin in the fifth-place match. 120 – Dulce Santiago Rosas (6th) Santiago Rosas earned valuable team points in a challenging bracket. 130 / 135 / 140 / 145 – Forfeit Entries (13 pts) The Olympians picked up advancement and placement points despite limited roster availability at several weights.
