Columbus East walked into the Mooresville Super Duals on Saturday knowing it would be an uphill climb. With multiple injuries forcing the Olympians to surrender five forfeits—and 30 points—every single round, the margin for error was razor-thin. Still, this group didn’t flinch. They punched out a 2–3 record and secured a 10th-place team finish, proving once again that effort and toughness can keep you in meets. East opened with setbacks against Greensburg (31–48) and Hamilton Southeastern (36–48), both matches where the forfeits simply created too deep of a hole. But the Olympians kept swinging, and it paid off. They knocked off Jeffersonville 42–36 and followed with a 46–30 win over Anderson—two victories earned the hard way, with nearly every match carrying weight. The day closed with a tight 36–42 battle against Bloomington South, another meet where East made things far more competitive than the lineup numbers suggested. Individually, several wrestlers delivered standout performances that kept East afloat. 155 Issabel Wakefield (5–0) and 170 Annie Redman (5–0) dominated their brackets with undefeated runs. 100 Abby Morales (4–1) and 125 Gloria Cloud (4–1) hammered out strong four-win days. 110 Tienica Dits (2–0) stayed perfect in limited action. 115 Breylin Rodriguez (3–2) chipped in a winning record that mattered more than the numbers can show. Other key contributors fought hard in every round: 110 Lia Tomlinson (1–2) 120 Dulce Santiago (2–3) 190 Kyleigh Traylor (2–3) 235 Elle Bliton (2–1) 235 Kaydence Spradlin (2–1) Given the health situation, this easily could’ve been a forgettable day. Instead, the Olympians squeezed every point possible out of their lineup. They walked out with two wins, several big individual showings, and a team finish that reflects grit more than roster size. Nice job Olympians!!!
