Columbus East’s Pink Night matchup against Mooresville ended in a tough 50–48 loss on Friday, despite the Olympians controlling the majority of the contest inside the Orange Pit. East put itself in strong position early, using an energetic start to build a double-digit lead and maintain momentum deep into the fourth quarter. However, Mooresville closed the game with a decisive 14-2 surge, turning a late three-point deficit into a 50–48 win after capitalizing on free throws and a turnover in the final seconds. The Olympians opened the night with one of their strongest halves of the season. After the Pioneers connected on the first 3-point attempt of the game, East responded with 14 straight points and stretched the advantage to 27–12. The lead remained comfortable at halftime, where the Olympians held a 29–18 edge, and later stood at 39–30 heading into the final period. Mooresville gradually chipped away at the margin, pulling within five midway through the fourth quarter. East answered with a driving finish from Lola Watkins followed by a timely 3-pointer from Krea Martin to rebuild a 10-point advantage. Those baskets would ultimately be the last field goals of the night for the Olympians. Ella Anthis paced East with 15 points, while Watkins added nine points and six assists. Bailey Rohde provided eight points, and Brelyn Pool delivered seven points and a team-high 11 rebounds, helping East secure a 33–25 advantage on the glass, and London Cline rounded out the scoring for the O's with one point . Despite strong stretches of play and a commanding lead for most of the night, the final minute proved costly for the Olympians, who now sit at 2–4. East will look to regroup as they host South Decatur on Tuesday, November November 25th in the Orange Pit. JV tip time: 6pm, with the varsity match to follow.
