Short-Handed but Sharp, Olympians Push Past Madison 42–30

The lineup wasn’t full, the night was far from routine, but Columbus East still found a way to handle business in the Orange Pit on Thursday. With both the Olympians and the Madison Cubs battling injuries and illness, the dual featured only four contested matches and several forfeits. Even so, East made the most of the opportunities and walked away with a 42–30 victory. The highlight came at 115 pounds, where Brelin Rodriguez delivered the lone on-mat win of the night for the Olympians, sticking her opponent for a momentum-swinging pin. East picked up the rest of its points through a string of forfeits as Abby Morales (100), Dulce Santiago (125), Gloria Cloud (130), Luci Morales (135), Annie Redman (170), and Kaydence Spradlin (235) all went into the book with victories. It wasn’t the cleanest or most complete night of wrestling, but the Olympians kept their composure, banked the points that mattered, and walked out with another win. Next up, East heads to Purdue Polytechnic – Englewood on Saturday, November 15, for the Purdue Girls Wrestling Invite—an all-day test featuring a deep field: Hamilton Southeastern, Indian Creek, Jennings County, Northview, Lebanon, Lapel, Greenfield-Central, New Palestine, Edgewood, Pendleton Heights, Decatur Central, Bishop Chatard, and the host Purdue Polytechnic Englewood. Action begins at 9 a.m. Good luck, Olympians. Keep pushing forward.
