The Columbus East JV girls basketball team wasted no time setting the tone for the season, rolling to a 65-25 victory over Purdue Polytechnic Englewood on Tuesday night inside the Orange Pit. It was a true team effort, with every player on the roster getting on the scoreboard. Freshman London Cline led the charge with a game-high 15 points, while fellow freshman Madison Gourley wasn’t far behind with 12. Emma Armstrong added 10, giving the freshman class a strong early statement. Sophomore Brooke Moss chipped in 8 points, followed by freshman contributions from Madelyn Tapp (7), Renata Montoya (6), and Allison Halstead (4). Mia Petro added 2 points and Aleigha Wickliffe rounded out the scoring with a free throw. With balanced scoring, active defense, and energy off the bench, the JV Olympians opened the season exactly how they wanted. Strong start — now it’s about building on it. Go O’s!
